Having worked with active bands before this assignment, I was excited to get the opportunity to create for a band so meaningful and impactful to me. My Chemical Romance was a punk-rock group that reigned during the 00’s, before breaking up in the 10’s. They also helped to fuel my own self expression and internal identity. They had raucous energy, sharp and romantic, sometimes heady. I wanted to dip into analog once more and play with painting. For these paintings I used acrylic, sumi ink, silver leaf, and pain marker.
